Responsible for spreading the Good News of Christ through the community and informing the community of the mission and opportunities available through church membership, this committee has a challenging responsibility.
They review the membership roll and recommend to Session any changes. This committee greets members before worship, welcomes visitors and tracks attendance patterns. Membership requests are forwarded to the pastor.
In a rapidly changing culture with a diminishing role for churches, evangelism is an increasingly important concern.
Someone has to budget, supervise and report the church financial needs. Under the authority of this committee, individual contributions are recorded and deposited. Members may request an accounting of their contributions at any time and regularly receive statements of their tithes and offerings.
The treasurer follows procedures approved by this committee and they are in monthly

In the past we lived in stable, unchanging communities. We grew up knowing people who would be involved in our lives as long as we lived. Now we have to work at community. This committee offers community building opportunities through dinners, social activities and occasional trips. To this end, Fellowship dinners are held periodically. A special "theme" and entertainment highlight many of these events at which we have the opportunity to meet and know each other. Short trips are also planned during the year.
This committee reviews and approves disbursements to benevolence projects. They also interpret mission opportunities to the members.

The Presbyterian church is unique in the extent to which officers of the local church are empowered and entrusted with responsibility. The ruling body of the local church is the Session. Comprised of the Pastor and the twelve Elders, the Session is the ultimate authority over the local church. Elders are laymen (church members) who are elected and ordained to study and lead all aspects of the local church.
We have no bishops or hierarchy to oversee a local church; therefore local responsibility is serious. Local churches operate under the Presbytery, a regional association of churches which functions in a democratic style.
Our church functions primarily through the Session committees which include Elders and members from the congregation. We have Staff and Nominating Committees and six program committees... Christian Education, Evangelism, Finance, Fellowship, Mission and Worship.
Responsible for youth and adult education, this committee administrates, recruits and supports teachers and staff. They refer to Session any major policy or program changes.
The Christian Education committee meets at 2:00 pm on the first Wednesday of every month for about an hour to plan for success of this department.
The Evangelism committee meets at 2:00 pm on the first Monday of each month to discuss the best methods of spreading God’s word in our community.
Among other activities, the committee maintains this web site is now installed for your use. Since you are the primary user, suggestions for improvement will be greatly appreciated. These may be sent via Email to the webmaster by clicking the “Send email the webmaster” command at the bottom of this site’s Contact Us page.
The 2012 pledge cards have been mailed. It would be appreciated if they are returned by December 4. Remember, your pledge is an indication of your intention, not a commitment.
The committee meets at 7:30 pm on the 2nd Monday of each month.
The Mission committee meets at 10:00 am on the first Wednesday of the month. Anyone interested in joining our committee will be most welcome and appreciated.
The Worship committee meets at 7:00 pm on the first Monday of the month. All are invited to attend.
